The Power of the Navigator

“Believing in someone else, so they can believe in themselves, is a small but hugely significant act of leadership.” – Carly Fiorina

Okay, I’m going to meditate on this quote a little bit. It has been rolling around in my head quite a bit lately. Just like I always do, when I read it for the first time, I began thinking about how it can apply to being a mom. Do you ever stop to think that if you are a mom, you are a leader every single hour of every day and you are being watched whether you like it or not? What an incredibly large, but privileged job we have to know that if we simply believe in our children, they can reach the stars. You don’t have to be on any committees, or volunteer so many hours to something, be on a leadership team or anything to be a leader. You have the most powerfully influental job on the planet right in your own home.

I know that we all have good days and bad days, but overall, what type of influence are you having in your own home?
