Today’s lesson in lanyard is being posted early in the day for two reasons. One, my parents have come over to watch the kids so I can get some shopping done so I had to do a speedy lesson.
Secondly, this was definately an introduction to lanyard. I showed the kids all of the things I’ve made in the past so they could see the potential of lanyard, but attempted to teach them the basic square stitch. I think it’s day in our home will come a bit later. Only the older kids caught on and there was a lot of frustration along the way. I’m curious to see if they pick their lanyard projects up again in the next few days or if they’ll get tossed by the wayside and revisited in the summer. Time will tell…
The Negotiator got a little creative trying to hold down all of the different strands of lanyard and little bit more into the “pulling it tight” than I expected.
The idea that sparked this week of creativity came from http://www.owlhaven.net. That is where I found sites to refresh my memory on working with lanyards. I found the Boondoggle Man site to be super helpful.
PS – After the seventh store, Peppermint Extract was finally found so tomorrow will be a creative baking day for sure!
Thanks! I guess that’s what happens when you let it all hang out!
