Singing in the Back Seat

Today I found my kids sitting on the couch, playing with a greeting card that one of my best friends sent to me. It was one of those singing ones. You know, the ones that play a song and scare the poop out of you when you open it?

Well, it plays a song that is dear to the two of us. It is called, “How Great is Our God” by Chris Tomlin. It became more dear to me today when I heard that card being played over and over again by my children who were singing along with it. Now that is music to my ears. No greater sound can rise from the backseat as children’s voices singing the praises of the Lord. I don’t know about you, but I much prefer it to whining or hearing my name called 432 times!

There is just something about music that stays with you and I hope and pray that something as simple as the songs that praise the Lord will stay with my children into their future. May it be something this simple that grounds them and reminds them of Who really drives the car.
