Joining Pawsitive Hands

As life would have it, as soon as I wrote out the continuation to her story, she decided that her life was not interesting enough. She must’ve thought we were bored and decided to show off her climbing skills by hopping the fence into our neighbor’s yard right under my nose! It was my turn to keep an eye on her, I glanced down to help one of my other kids and…POOF!…she was over the fence in a flash. Fortunately, this time it was the neighbor’s yard that does not have a pool. If it’d been the other neighbor, it could’ve turned out so differently. The angels that watch over her have got to be working overtime.

I had a good cry over that one, but was delighted to learn shortly afterward that Little E has been officially accepted to receive a dog from Pawsitive Service Dog Solutions. We have signed the contract and have had someone already graciously step up to make the 10% deposit so that she can now be locked in line for an Autism Service Dog that will be trained just for her eloping needs. As you can see by the things I’ve shared lately, we need a service dog…stat!

Many people have sent us emails, FB messages and texted us asking how much we need to raise and how the process works. Now that it’s official, here’s what you need to know to join hands with us in making a “pawsitive” imprint into her story.

The total cost of the dog is $25,000, but we only need to raise:

$12,500 minus the 10% deposit (plus a little more) that locked her place in line =

$11,200 is what we need to raise.

Once we have raised 50% of the total required of us ($12,500), Little E’s specific dog will be placed into Advanced Training.

Upon a zero balance (and when the dog finishes training), the dog will be released into our care.

You see, the faster we raise the funds, the faster we have another set of eyes–specifically trained for her–in our home. Hallelujah!

Over the course of the next month, we will be putting our all into fundraising and we hope that you will be a part of her story by joining hands with us to reach our fundraising goal. We have quite a few ideas up our sleeve, but here are a few to get you started thinking:

1) If you simply want to donate, go to Pawsitive Service Dog Solutions, which is a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) so you can get a tax deduction by giving directly to them. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on their PayPal link. (Yes, this route does take out 3%) YOU MUST PUT “FREELAND” IN THE COMMENTS SECTION FOR YOUR DONATION TO GO TOWARD LITTLE E’S DOG.

2) If you want to make a donation, but don’t like the 3% PayPal fee taken out, you can write a check and mail it to Pawsitive Service Dog Solutions, PO Box 383, Olivehurst, CA 95961. Again, YOU MUST PUT “FREELAND” ON THE CHECK FOR YOUR DONATION TO GO TOWARD LITTLE E’S DOG.

3) We will also be offering an easy Mother’s Day solution for your gift giving needs. Monica Coombs has generously offered to bake deliciously moist jumbo cupcakes for $3/cupcake. We will individually and beautifully wrap each cupcake for you to give as a gift to all the mothers in your life. She will donate the proceeds to Little E’s dog. If you live locally, you can place pre-orders with her or me via FB or you can contact me at: [email protected].

4) If you live locally, you can Rent-a-Freeland for your child care needs, yard work or any simple organization you need done. My kids are so excited about this option. Seriously. Please take them up on this. They can’t wait to join hands by offering what they can do for you in exchange for a donation to Little E’s Pawsitive Fund.

We have a few more local ideas that we’ll share as we get them going and we also have some for those that don’t live here. Hold tight. We can only do so much as we chase after Little E.

Here’s your chance to make a pawsitive impact on Autism. Will you join us by giving what you can? Will you share her story so she can be safe? Will you spread her story so that others can learn the about the difference an Autism Service Dog can make in the life of a child?

Make a Pawsitive difference today!
