I don’t know why, but lately I’ve had this question rolling around in my head lately. It’s a question that I read at some point in life. To my best recollection–I’m really reaching far back into the recesses of my brain here–I think this question came from “Shepherding a Child’s Heart” by Tedd Tripp. The question goes something like this:
If your child had to answer, “What would get you into trouble the most in your home, breaking something valuable or being disobedient?”
What would your child answer? I know what I want my children to answer, but what would they really answer? What do my children think matters to me? Material possessions or character?
That’s a great question, one that could probably be revisited frequently to ensure your focus stays consistant.
